Tax inspection: what to do when the request arrives

Stay calm and check the deadline

An information request or the start of an audit does not prejudge the outcome. First identify what the Tax Agency asks for and by when: deadlines are strict, and missing them worsens any file.

Gather your documents

Locate invoices, contracts, statements, and returns for the affected period. Complete, organised documentation is the best defence: most adjustments come from papers not submitted on time.

Reply with technical judgement
